YOUNG ADULT PROBLEMS: PIMPLES

A pimple is a small pustule or circumscribed elevation of the skin that, by definition, is less than lcm in diameter. Any bigger than that and it is considered a boil or abscess.

Pimples can be found at any age but are particularly prominent through the teenage years in response to hormonal activity and increased intake of refined sugar.

Melanomas should be distinguished from solar keratosis – a pre-cancerus condition caused by over-exposure to the sun.
