Thousand Island Dressing

A salad dressing with a mayonnaise base, Thousand Island Dressing is thought to have originated in America. It is excellent served with vegetable salads, and of course, with hamburgers. Whipped cream is often substituted for French


16 fl. oz. mayonnaise

1½ teaspoons Tabasco sauce

2 tablespoons chopped pimientos or sweet pickle

10 stuffed green olives, finely chopped

2 hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped shallot, very finely chopped

1 fl. oz. French Dressing

In a large bowl beat all the ingredients together with a wooden spoon, until they are thoroughly combined. Pour the dressing into a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
