The reindeer is a horned deer of the genus rangifer which is found in northern Europe, northern America and Asia.

The meat of young reindeer, both cows and steers, is very similar in flavour to venison, although reindeer meat is slightly milder. Reindeer meat is partic-ularly popular in the Scandinavian countries.

Reindeer is generally cooked in the same way as VENISON.
