Primrose is a pretty plant ivhich flowers in the spring. The floivers are prized not only for their appearance but also for their use in cooking and, like rtiost flowers that are edible, they were more frequently used in olden days. The leaves may be added to salads and also give a fragrant flavour to vegetable soups. The petals are used in desserts and cakes and when crystallized make an attractive decoration for sweet dishes.
