The loganberry is a tart, wine red, hybrid fruit, a cross between the BLACKBERRY and the RASPBERRY. It is larger in size and sharper in flavour than the raspberry. It was first grown from seed in California in 1881.

The loganberry is cultivated com-mercially in England, Tasmania and particularly in the United States.

Loganberries make an excellent filling for tarts and pies, and are suitable for freezing, making jam and wine.
