Lemonade made with fresh lemons is a delicious cooling summer drink. Full of vitamin C it’s very good for you too!

2|- PINTS grated rind and juice of 6 lemons 8 oz. sugar 2 pints boiling water

Place the lemon rind and the sugar in a tall jug. Pour in the boiling water and mix thoroughly with a long-handled spoon until the sugar has dissolved.

Place the jug in the refrigerator or a cool place and chill it for 2 hours, or until it is very cold. Remove the jug from the refrigerator and stir in the lemon juice.

Strain the lemonade through a fine strainer into a serving jug. Serve at once.
