– Tangerines, a hybrid citrus fruit, are very rich in Vitamin C.

– Like mandarins, tangerines contain bromine, which has as a sedative effect on the nervous system.

– Tangerines also help prevent cancer, as do all citrus fruit. The U.S. National Cancer Institute issued a report declaring that regular consumption of citrus fruit (grapefruit, oranges, lemons, tangerines, etc.) significantly reduces the incidence of stomach cancer.

– The fibre and pectin contained in tangerines reduces cholesterol levels (the white skin beneath the peel and between sections contains the most pectin).
