The skin, because of trauma or burns, may need to be replaced by a skin graft. A patch of skin approximately the size of the area that has been damaged is removed from a healthy area, ensuring that the basal level of cells is removed. This must be accompanied by some subcutaneous tissue to encourage new blood vessel growth into the area to feed the basal cells.
See Operations and surgery.
Once the graft has taken, application of Arnica-and Calendula-based creams would be beneficial.
See Eczema and follow the guidelines for supplemental and herbal support.
