This is a disease of the inner ear that is characterized by deafness, vertigo, nausea and often vomiting. Tinnitus and an involuntary movement of the eyes from side to side may also occur.
The cause is uncertain although infection is possible. There is some evidence for an allergic reaction being the cause but so may dehydration or electrolyte imbalances which cause more fluid to pass into chambers within the body instead of staying in the tissues or blood vessels.
Check for food allergies
Reduce salt intake.
Ensure good hydration by drinking at least half a pint of water per foot of height.
