This delicious dessert is quite elegant enough to serve at a dinner party, yet so easy to make that it is ideal for a family lunch.
6 oz. strawberries, hulled and washed
6 bananas, peeled and mashed
12 fl. oz. yogurt
1 tablespoon sugar juice of J lemon 5 fl. oz. double cream , lightly whipped 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Place 4 ounces of the strawberries in a large serving bowl and mash them with a fork. Add the bananas and stir in the yogurt, sugar and lemon juice. Using a wooden spoon, beat in the cream and stir until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Using a metal spoon, fold in the egg whites until the mixture is well blended.
Halve the remaining strawberries and use them to decorate the top of the dessert. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
