Zoom-Zoom Sausage Toadstools

Baked beans and sausages are very popular with children and this tasty dish combines both. It looks attractive too and would be ideal to serve for a children’s party.


1 oz. butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 lb. potatoes, cooked, mashed and kept hot

14 oz. canned baked beans, heated through and drained

1 lb. sausages, grilled

4 oz. large button mushrooms, wiped clean, stalks removed and the caps grilled


1 tablespoon of the butter, the salt and pepper into the potatoes and arrange them over the bottom of a large, shallow serving dish. Cover with the baked beans. Cut the sausages in half and set them, cut sides down, into the beans and potatoes so that they stand upright. Cover each sausage piece with a mushroom cap. Brush the mushroom caps with the remaining melted butter and serve at once.
