A tasty inexpensive dish, Zenda Sausage Snacks can be served as an hors d’oeuvre or as a light lunch or supper with a bowl of soup.4 oz. butter, softened
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tablespoons prepared French mustard 6 large white bread slices, crusts removed, halved, toasted and kept warm
14 oz. canned cocktail sausages, cooked, drained, cut in half and kept warm
2 tablespoons finely chopped mustard and cress
Place the butter, garlic and mustard in a small bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
Preheat the grill to high.
Using a tabic knife, spread half of the butter mixture over the pieces of toast. Divide the sausages among the toast.
Spread the remaining butter mixture over the sausages and transfer the toast to the grill pan. Place the pan under the heat and grill for 1 minute or until the sausages are golden brown.
Remove the grill pan from the grill and transfer the toasts to a large, warmed serving dish. Sprinkle over the mustard and cress and serve.
