A delicious, easy-to-make dish, Wisconsin Ham Casserole is a perfect – and economical – supper dish for the family. Serve with salad and crusty bread.
12 oz. canned condensed cream of mushroom soup
5 fl. oz. double cream
4 oz. Gruyere cheese, grated
6 oz. egg noodles, cooked and drained
3 spring onions , trimmed and sliced
12 oz. cooked ham, cut into cubes
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
1 canned pimiento, drained and chopped
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
Preheat the oven to moderate 350°F (Gas Mark 4, 180°C).
Pour the soup and cream into a large ovenproof casserole and stir well to mix. Gradually add the remaining ingredients, stirring constantly.
Place the casserole in the oven and cook the mixture, uncovered, for 35 to 45 minutes or until it is thick and creamy and lightly browned on top.
Remove the casserole from the oven and serve at once.
