Shrimps Stir-Fried with Ginger

Exotic and easy-to-make dish, Shrimps Stir-Fried with Ginger is simply delicious. Serve with fried rice and sautecd

Chinese cabbage.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 garlic cloves, crushed

2 spring onions , finely chopped

1 leek, white part only, cut into julienne strips

3-inch piece fresh root ginger, peeled and finely chopped

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (optional)

1 teaspoon salt

½ lb. frozen peeled shrimps, thawed and drained

8 oz. bean sprouts, washed and drained

4 oz. petits pois

In a large frying-pan, heat the oil over moderate heat. When the oil is hot, add the garlic, spring onions , leek and ginger and fry, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce, sugar, monosodium glutamate if you are using it, and salt and cook for a further 1 minute, stirring frequently.

Stir in the shrimps, bean sprouts and pctits pois and fry, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat.

Transfer the shrimp mixture to a warmed serving dish and serve immediately.
