SCONES

Scones can be baked quickly when there is unexpected company. You need 6 tablespoonfuls of flour, 4 oz. Margarine, 2 pinches of salt, 2 tablespoonfuls sugar. Mix these ingredients with milk to a soft dough and put the mixture on to a floured board. Knead with the palms of the hands and shape the scones – do not roll the mixture. Cut with a scone cutter and bake in a very hot oven (475°F.) for ten minutes.
