(FISH) 1 small tin of salmon, 2 handfuls rice, 2 dessertspoonfuls oats, 1medium onion, 2 oz. Margarine, salt and pepper.
Boil the rice, flake the salmon, cut the onion into small pieces. Put the boiled rice, salmon, onion, oats, margarine and seasoning into a bowl and mix well. Add 2 dessertspoonfuls breadcrumbs. Flour a baking board and sprinkle a few breadcrumbs on to it. Shape the mixture as desired and fry in a little dripping.
You can substitute potatoes for rice, and meat, beans, fish or cauliflower for salmon.
SAVOURY ONION 2 medium onions (diced), 1 breakfastcupful of gravy, teaspoon- ful curry powder, 2 slices of crisp toast, seasoning. (Enough for two persons.)
Brown the onions in a little fat, add gravy and curry powder and serve on crisp toast.
