Rum Punch

A refreshing drink that will conjure up images of tropical beaches and bright blue skies, Rum Punch can have amazing after -effects!

36 fl. oz. water

12 oz. sugar

6 fl. oz. fresh lime juice

18 fl. oz. rum

1 tablespoon Angostura bitters

1 teaspoon grated nutmeg

12 ice cubes

In a medium-sized saucepan, heat 12 fluid ounces of the water and the sugar over moderate heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Remove the pan from the heat. Set the syrup aside to cool.

In a large punch or serving bowl, com-bine the cooled syrup, lime juice, rum, the remaining water and the bitters. Place the bowl in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.

Remove the bowl from the refrigerator. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the nutmeg and ice cubes and serve immediately.
