Rice Paper

Rice paper, contrary to popular belief, is not made from rice but from the pith of a small tree which grows in Asia.

The fine, glossy paper is edible and is very useful as a base in the making of biscuits , such as MACAROONS. In China and Japan, where the tree is widely cultivated, rice paper is used to make artificial flowers.
