Ratafia (rah-tah-fee-yah) is the French name for a liqueur made from the kernels of various fruit, such as apricots, cherries and peaches, or fruit or herbs infused with brandy.

Ratafia is also the name given to a dessert biscuit , very similar to MACAROONS, only drier and smaller. Ratafia biscuits are eaten with coffee or tea, or used, crushed or whole to decorate cold desserts.
