Hardy herbaceous plants suitable for cultivation in beds, borders, or on the rockery.

Plant in spring in a compost of sandy peat and leaf-mould. They like a shady, well-drained situation, and also plenty of moisture. It is advisable not to lift the plants until they show signs of deterioration.

Increase by division of the plants at planting time, also seeds may be sown in spring in a cold frame or cool greenhouse.

These plants also make excellent decoration on the greenhouse shelves.
