This is a popular rum-based drink, made in almost as many different ways as there are bar tenders. This version is a basic one and the fruit and juices may be increased or decreased according to taste.
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice juice of
5 fl. oz. rum
4 ice cubes, crushed
1 orange slice
1 pineapple slice
Combine the sugar, water and orange juice together in a tall glass and stir with a long-handled spoon until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the lime juice and rum.
Add the crushed ice and, when the outside of the glass has frosted, garnish with the orange and pineapple slices.
