Packing Fruit and Vegetables

Packing must always be done with a stick or spoon with the larger speci-mens, while the smaller ones are shaken. Into place by jarring the half-filled bottle on the palm of the hand. Should fruit sink despite proper packing, it is of a variety which contains so much natural juice that it cannot be helped. In such a case the jars are repacked to fill one with another.

Bottles will crack during filling if cold water or liquid is poured in hot bottles and vice versa.
