NUTRTIONAL CURE FOR ACNE

You can treat acne internally by adding more Vitamin A-rich foods to your diet.

Sources of Vitamin A in the form of retinol:

– fish liver and the liver of other animals

– fat contained in dairy products

– egg yolk

Sources in the form of carotene:

– carrots

– spinach

– tomatoes

– lettuce and leafy greens in general

– asparagus

– corn

– melon

– apricots, oranges, etc.

Dried fruit contains more Vitamin A than fresh fruit. Adolescents can try a diet rich in walnuts to help control an acne problem. It’s also important to cut down as much as possible on:

– refined sugars

– fat

– processed meats

– fried foods

– alcohol

– coffee

Other vitamins that help fight acne:

Vitamin B6 – good sources include:

– whole grains and sprouted grains

– whole grain bread

– yeast

– egg yolk

– beef liver

– soybean

– red meat, kidney, brain

– fish

– cabbage, spinach and other green vegetables

– split peas

– fresh fruit

– milk and cheese

– molasses

Vitamin B8, found in all foods containing B-complex vitamins, and especially:

– brewer’s yeast

– liver, kidney

– egg yolk

– peanuts

– split peas

– mushrooms

Vitamin E and primrose oil are both excellent for your skin.

The main source of Vitamin E is wheat germ. Other foods containing this vitamin include:

– almonds, hazelnuts

Note: In many cases abstaining from dairy products and foods containing gluten for a few weeks can cure an acne problem fairly rapidly. Also remember that some of the foods listed above may not be recommended by your doctor, in which case you should follow his or her advice.
