A silica deficiency can cause prostate problems. The human body contains about 18 grams of silica which combines with calcium to form bones and conjunctive tissue, and maintain collagen and elastine fibres. Silica acts as a kind of vegetal cement, combating the effects of aging. It is found mainly in plants which have strong stems and leaves, like horsetail. Other sources include the peel of fruit, the husks of grains, as well as onions, garlic and shallots.
Also avoid alcohol and overly spicy foods, and eat lots of cabbage.
Taking supplements of magnesium chloride (2 or 3 grams every morning) and eating pumpkin seeds are both recommended for the natural prevention or treatment of prostate problems.
