Nutmeg Cream

Nutmeg Cream is a simple creamy sauce which tastes especially delicious served with poached pears, apples and apricots or fruit flans. It may be diluted with milk to make a flourishing drink.

ABOUT

10 FLUID OUNCES

6 fl. oz. cup evaporated milk, chilled

3 fl. oz. orange juice

1 teaspoon grated nutmeg

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat the evaporated milk with a wire whisk or rotary beater until it is frothy. Gradually whisk in the orange juice. Stir the nutmeg into the mixture and pour the sauce into a sauceboat.

Chill the sauce in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it.
