Nonpareille

Nonpareille (nohn-pahr-aye) is a French word which literally means unequalled or peerless.

It is the name of a large pear which grows in France, as well as the name of small capers pickled in vinegar and the tiny, multi-coloured grains of sugar known as ‘hundreds and thousands’ in Britain.
