A thirst-quenching drink, Mexican Fruit Drink is made in Mexico with pomegranate juice as one of the ingredients. Here we have substituted grape juice which, however, does not replace the distinctive flavour of the pomegranate. If you prefer something a little stronger, try adding vodka or gin.
1 medium-sized pineapple, peeled, core removed and crushed in a blender
15 fl. oz. fresh orange juice juice of
6 fl. oz. grape juice
6 oz. sugar
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon g teaspoon ground cloves
12 ice cubes, crushed
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed pineapple, orange juice, lemon juice, grape juice and sugar. Add the cinnamon and cloves and mix the ingredients together well with a spoon. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.
Remove the bowl from the refrigerator. Strain the liquid into a large jug. Add the crushed ice and stir well. Serve immed-iately.
