Maroilles

Maroilles, or marolles, is a French semihard cheese renowned for its pungency, which has earned it the name of ‘old stinker’. It is a whole-milk cheese similar to Pont l’Eveque, square in shape with a red rind. It has been made for over one-thousand years in the villages surrounding the Abbey of Maroilles.
