Maraschino is a colourless, almost odourless liqueur made from small, black bitter Marasca cherries. The fruit and the crushed kernels of the fruit are fermented with honey and sugar to give the liqueur its distinctive bitter-sweet taste.

Maraschino was first produced in Yugoslavia, but is now also made in Italy.
