Macadamia Nut

An excellent dessert nut, the macadamia (also called Queensland nut) is native to Australia. Two types of it exist, one thick shelled and one thin shelled. In both types the nut itself is white, crisp and sweet.

It is also commercially cultivated in Hawaii, the only other place where macadamia nuts are grown, and there they are mostly shelled, roasted and salted for export.
