Lasagne

Used in Italian cooking, lasagne (lah-sa-nyah) are wide strips or squares of pasta. They are first cooked and then placed in a baking dish in layers with other ingredients, such as cheese, meat and tomato sauce. The dish is often covered with a thick white sauce and baked until golden brown.

Lardy Cake is a really traditional English recipe. The cake, which is very moist and rich in fruit and spices, may be served plain or buttered.
