Kumquat

The kumquat is a small, sub-tropical fruit which originated in China and is now widely cultivated throughout the Far East.

It is bright yellow in colour, resembles the mandarin orange in size and shape and has slightly sweet-sour-tasting flesh.

Kumquats may be eaten raw or preserved in sugar. They are a popular ingredient in many Chinese dishes.
