Kirsch with Bananas is a very simple, easy and quick-to-make dessert, ideal for guests who turn up unexpectedly.
1 tablespoon castor sugar
3 fl. oz. double cream , stiffly whipped
4 tablespoons kirsch
6 bananas, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or hazelnuts
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the sugar, cream and kirsch. Stir the mixture until the sugar has dissolved. Add the bananas and chopped nuts and stir to coat the fruit with the kirsch mixture.
Turn the mixture into a chilled serving dish and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 1 hour. Stir well before serving.
