Japonica

Japonica is the greeny-yellow skinned oval-shaped fruit of the decorative Japonica shrub. Closely related to the quince, the fruit is mostly used for making jams and jellies, often in conjunction with apples, but is also used in fruit pies. Japonica is often picked when it is still green and unripe, and stored for use until it is beginning to turn yellow.
