This cool, refreshing Jamaican Rum Punch is just the drink hot thirsty summer’s day.
4 oz. sugar
1 pint strong tea, warm
8 fl. oz. fresh lemon juice
8 fl. oz. fresh orange juice
1 pint gin
12 pints Jamaican rum
2 pints ginger ale, chilled
4 mint sprigs, washed
4 oz. cherries, washed and stoned
Place the sugar in a large mixing bowl. Pour in the warm tea and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes, or until the tea is cold.
Remove the bowl from the refrigerator and add the lemon juice, orange juice, gin, rum and ginger ale and stir well.
Place some ice cubes in a punch bowl and pour the punch over them. Garnish the punch with the mint and cherries and serve at once.
