Hot Buttered Rum

A drink that almost makes winter cold worthwhile, Hot Buttered Rum is a perfect drink for rainy November evenings by the

6 fl. oz. boiling draught cider or water

1 tablespoon butter

1 fl. oz. dark rum

1 teaspoon castor sugar

1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

In a heated mug, combine 2 fluid ounces of the cider or water and the butter. Stir to melt the butter. Stir in the rum and sugar. Pour in the remaining boiling cider or water. Sprinkle the nutmeg on top and serve.
