Highball

One of the most popular of American cock-tails, a Highball can be varied. It may be made with a whisky, rum, gin or brandy base – although the most popular versions of the Highball are usually made with various types of whisky. And to this liquor base is added either water, soda, or any other aerated water. The recipe below is only one basic version of this popular cocktail.

2 fl. oz. whisky, either bourbon, rye or Scotch

6 fl. oz. soda or ginger ale

2 or

3 ice cubes

Put all the ingredients into a tall glass and stir vigorously with a long-handled spoon. Serve at once.
