A light appetizer for any meal, Grilled Grapefruit, is always popular and full of Vitamin C. If you serve it for a dinner first course, you might like to spoon
1 teaspoonful of sherry over each half.
2 large grapefruit
2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
Preheat the grill to moderate.
Cut the grapefruit in half crosswise. Using a small serrated or very sharp knife, cut around between the pith and the flesh of the grapefruit. Cut between each membrane to loosen the flesh, and remove the centre core.
Sprinkle each grapefruit half with 2 tablespoon of sugar. Place the grapefruit under the grill and cook for 4 minutes or until the sugar has melted and is beginning to caramelize. Remove the grapefruit from the heat and place them in small serving bowls.
