Glycerine

Glycerine is a sweet, colourless, odourless liquid and a component of animal and vegetable fats and oils.

The term glycerol is used for the pure chemical product and glycerine for the commercial grades. In the food field, glycerine is used as a softening agent in confectionery, in the packaging of dried fruits, in icing and in baked goods.
