Ear-wax blockage

Accumulation of wax in the ear canal, sometimes causing hearing loss. A wax plug can be caused by inexpert cleaning of the outer ear canal. Ear-wax is produced by small glands in the skin of the ear canal, and has a protective function. Normally it is self-clearing, presumably by chewing movements.
