Cassata

The name cassata (kass-AH-tah) is applied both to a Sicilian cake with cream cheese and chocolate, and, more commonly, to

a type of Neapolitan ice cream consisting of a mousse mixture-coated with ice. An ice cream made in coloured layers mixed

with candied fruits and almonds is also known as cassata.
