Bannocks

A variety of large, round cake, or girdle-scone, from Scotland, bannocks can be made from oatmeal, wheat, barley or pease.

Of the many varieties the best known are the Selkirk bannock, which is similar to a fruit bun, and the Pitcaithly bannock, which is like shortbread.
