These are hardy evergreen and deciduous climbing and trailing plants. They like a compost of loam, leaf-mould, peat and sand, and should be put into 6- to 10-in. Pots in March.
The climbing varieties should have their shoots trained up wires stretched to the roof of the greenhouse. Some species may also be grown in hanging baskets. Increase by cuttings taken in March, or by division of the roots, also in March. Seed may also be sown in a close frame at the same period. These plants like plenty of light, and a moderate temperature, about 60° F.
